    • It can be a sign of a yeast infection or it can be just from severe irriation or an allergy aka sensitivity to something like soap or laundry detergent or from too much sex.

  1. Yeast infection? Swollen labia? Help please.?
Yeast infection? HELP PLEASE. :( ?
So I have had a yeast infection before and just recently, the outer circle of my vagina has been feeling painful. After a while I started getting the symptoms that match with a yeast infection: soreness, itchiness, and the kind of discharge.
I got a over night medication, like I did the last time I had one, and some of it came off the tube too early so I think most of the medication ended up in the vulva and not wherever it is supposed to go. Waking up this morning it is equally painful as it was yesterday BUT now my inner labia is SO swollen. Is this still a yeast infection? I am unable to go to the doctors for some time and I am just curious if there is anything I can do to get rid of the pain, or if anyone has a clue what it could be, and if it could still be a yeast infection.

    PLEASE HELP ME

  2. Labia swelling with yeast infection treatment?
I bought an over-the-counter treatment for a yeast infection and applied it last night, but when I woke up this morning everything “down there”, especially my labia minora, was swollen and red. It is tender to the touch and burns. Is this because of the treatment? Help!

    • For some reason, the first day or two of treatment with creams always does that to me too. It actually feels worse than it did before I began treatment! If the symptoms don’t start to ease in another day or so, then consult a doc.

  3. My labia minora is swollen… Yeast infection?
Swollen, or just for some reason protruding more than usual.

    My vagina is also itching.

I’m thinking it’s a yeast infection, just checking that’s all normal?
And are creams or pills better for aforementioned affliction?
I got told it’s probably thrush (aka yeast infection). Just looking for more opinions.

I don’t really want a doctor sticking a swab up there, thanks.

I am 16, too, so maybe its a hormonal thing?

    • I had a yeast infection a while back.
Well, I assume I did, because I took meds for it and it went away.

One of the symptoms I read was “swollen labia”.

So yeah. Sounds pretty likely, I took pills and they worked. You say you aren’t comfortable with a doctor “sticking a swab up there”, so pills might be better for you, if you wouldn’t be comfortable applying cream.

  4. Vaginal swelling and itching. Not a yeast infection.?
I just got back last week from FL which we road tripped…

after being home only a couple days I noticed a couple bumps, kind of like a small rash to the right of my vaginal opening. Thought little of it… now about 5 days after discovering the bumps, i start to have yeast infection type symptoms (swelling, itching) but no discharge. So, I called my doctor and he ordered in diflucan. Which i went a head and took today.

I’m starting to feel like it’s not so much of a yeast infection and possibly something else. The bumps have gone away but i still have itching, burning and swelling which are only effecting the right side of my vaginal opening and labia.

The reason I mentioned the road trip is because i used many public restrooms, stopping at dirty gas stations and such, and I’m afraid maybe i picked something up off a toilet. Pretty gross to think about.

I’ve been putting hydrocortisone cream on the area and it helps a little.

What could this be? Allergic reaction? Or something scary i picked up off a public restroom?

    • Do you shave your vagina? If so this could be causing it (ingrown hairs) it’s best not to, bad on the skin.
If not that – it could be yeast but usually you have a thick, gross discharge that comes out.
Avoid underwear that aren’t cotton – try to opt out of thongs for a while, see if it makes a difference.
Have you changed your laundry soap? If so, that could be it.

Have you had unprotected sex, or sex with a new partner? If so, could be sexually transmitted.

Try not to use scented soaps or anything and generally go a bit more natural and see if it helps get the itching and burning. Try canestan or vagisil cream until then, try getting the yeast infection home test that comes with canesten at the pharmacy. the cream is harmless and helps the itching.
